System Size Jusification

Based on the Rhode Island Energy Net Metering Provision 2207, residential systems cannot exceed 100% offset of the homeowners average consumption over the past 36 months up to a total maximum system size of 25 kW AC. Palmetto arrives at a maximum allowable kW DC value based off of our AC-DC conversion factor.

Note: To obtain interconnection approval, projects are not permitted to exceed 100% offset. Once installed, a customer can receive net metering credits from the utility up to 125% of the customer's historic usage.  If the system produces beyond 125% of historic usage, the utility will begin charging the customer at the net metering credit rate for these excess kWhs.
